Prenatal Visits

In general, your midwife will see you once a month for a
prenatal visit until you’re around 28-30 weeks. Then,
your midwife will see you every other week until you're around
36 weeks. From this point forward, your midwife will see you

Birth Attendance

during your labor. When your labor begins, contact your midwife
immediately. Upon arrival, your midwife takes your vital statistics,
listens to the baby’s heartbeat, and continues to monitor

During labor your midwife recommends position changes, as
necessary, and may suggest herbs and homeopathics, as well.

be. Upon birth, she checks your and your baby's vital statistics,
and she performs a newborn examination. Your midwife remains
with you and your baby until you are both stable.

Postpartum visit schedules vary among our midwives. In general,
you will receive a postpartum visit at your home usually within
24-48 hours of birth. Then again at 3-5 days after the birth.
Then, you come to her at 2 weeks and 6 weeks, more or less,

At these visits your midwife weighs the baby, checks your

as necessary, and provides any other counseling, education

You will receive personalized instruction on how to care
for your newborn as needed. This includes how to hold your
baby, how to feed your baby, how to put your baby down, and

give birth, if you have questions, concerns, or just need
